About us

A vision shaped by love.

Light of the Moon exists to sustain a beautiful, secure home where young survivors can heal—and to help make that model possible in more communities.

Our vision

A safe home today. A safer future tomorrow.

First, we provide consistent monthly support for Ahava House.

That support helps cover rent, staff salaries, and professional services so the home can offer steady, compassionate care.

✓ Consistently meeting every physical need of our guests
✓ Maintaining a team of trained staff and counselors
✓ Providing for our guests’ medical and legal needs

Then, we look beyond one home.

Several international government agencies have expressed interest in adapting our safe-house model in their own cities. By upholding high standards at Ahava House, we hope it will continue to be a trusted resource for future homes across Mexico and beyond.

How we started

One grandmother’s calling became a place of refuge.

In 2019, while cradling her newborn granddaughter for the first time, director Stacy Swenson felt called by God to become an “abuela” to children and young adults living in the shadow of trafficking in Tijuana.

After exploring many ways to help, Stacy was led to Ahava House, then in its earliest stages. She began to partner with the founders of the house, and by 2020, they had secured a property and hired trained staff.

Today, Ahava House stands in a peaceful, hidden corner of Tijuana—a spacious home offering protection, love, and care in the Name of Jesus to those rescued from sex trafficking.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”
